How to plan your week like a CEO (Even if you’re working from your kitchen table)

It all begins with an idea.

Being the CEO of your life and business starts with one powerful habit: planning with intention. Whether you’re running a growing digital brand, launching a side hustle, or balancing sales with family life, how you plan your week sets the tone for success. In this post, I’ll show you how to organize your time like a boss and introduce you to a planner concept designed to make it all easier.

Step 1: CEO Mindset First

Before you even open your Calander, take 5 minutes to check in with your mindset. CEOs don’t just do-they DECIDE!

Ask yourself:

  • What’s my big goal this month?

  • What moves the needle in my business this week?

  • What boundaries do I need to set?

Write these reflections down in your planner. It keeps your week aligned with your higher vision.

Step 2: Map Out Priorities, Not Just Tasks

Don’t start with a to-do list-start with a priority list (specifically your top 6 most important things)

Beak your week into categories:

  • Revenue-generating tasks (sales, marketing, outreach)

  • Maintenance Tasks (admin, customer service)

CEO Time (vision creating, content creation, planning)

Use your planner to color-code or label these (try to stick to same colors for future tasks, to eliminate confusion later). Here at Boss Babe Mindset digital planning, I have (and will be creating) planners including pre-made sections for each so you can stay focused on what really matters.

Step 3: Time-Block Like a Pro

Instead of squeezing tasks into random gaps, schedule dedicated blocks:

  • Morning Power Hours for deep work

  • Midday CEO Check-Ins for planning and reorganizing thoughts, activities

  • Evening Wind-Downs for journaling the day, what tomorrow will look like and/or reflection like what went well/what could have gone better?

The right planner layout makes time-blocking feel natural (my Boss Babe Mindset Planner is built with 1 hour time slots to support this!).

Step 4: Track Habits, Not just Hustle

Success isn’t just about doing more, it’s about doing what works consistently. Use habit trackers to log key routines:

  • Social media posts

  • Water intake

  • Follow-ups with leads

  • Affirmations or journaling

    Gratitude

This reinforces the CEO mindset daily. My digital planner includes customizable trackers to help you build momentum with ease.

Step 5: Celebrate & Reset Weekly

Every CEO needs a review session. At the end of each week, ask:

  • What went well?

  • What drained me?

  • What should I do differently next week?

Use the Weekly Reflection pages to journal this. This small ritual leads to massive long-term growth.
